Design Innovation

Project 1:

A systems approach to innovation for a home heating product. This project explored the application of Biomimicry to develop an innovative design concept for a more sustainble space heater that reduces electricity consumption. This project also informed my thesis project. This involved a deeper application of Biomimicry methodology and C2C (Cradle to Cradle). Included in the thesis was the development of a sustainable and ethical business model.

Project 2:

Excerpts from a product positioning study proposal for more sustainable packaging for ALL Brand laundry detergent. This project consisted of Competitive Market, Target Market and Ethnographic focus group research to identify important patterns that  informed the new package design. Exploration of available materials evaluated using sustainable frameworks, i.e.C2C (Cradle to Cradle). Development of sustainability scorecard, evaluation of value chains. Design of a new more sustainable packaging solution for ALL Brand Laundry Detergent.

Project 3:

Highlights from  a systems thinking approach to a community integrated

EV Station. The proposal identifies the current EV (electric vehicle) charging station situation based on locality. Explore the opportunity to work with the community in order to provide a broad range of benefits for people and the environment. The proposal identifies the project scope and innovative ideas for the new EV station. Frameworks i.e. LEED and Living Building Principles where applied to the station. The resulting outcome is a more integrated EV sation that is inviting and has many levels of benefits for the stakeholders.
